The Idoma Daughters and Wives Association (IDWA) proudly stands in solidarity with women, girls, advocates, and organizations around the world for the 2025 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. This year’s theme, “Unite to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls,” is a powerful call to action to confront a growing form of abuse that is often invisible, yet deeply damaging.
As an organization committed to the empowerment, safety, and dignity of all women and girls, IDWA recognizes that digital spaces must be as safe as physical ones. From cyberbullying, harassment, and blackmail to the spread of harmful stereotypes, women—especially young girls—are increasingly targeted online in ways that silence, shame, and harm them.
IDWA condemns all forms of digital violence. We are committed to raising awareness, educating our members and communities, and providing safe, supportive spaces—both online and offline—where every woman and girl is free to speak, lead, learn, and live without fear.
We call on all our chapters, partners, and members across Nigeria and the diaspora to unite their voices, platforms, and actions to end digital violence. Together, let us build a future where technology uplifts women and girls, not harms them.
